A concrete slab is cast over a steel roof deck and supported by a steel beam below. Shear stud anchors, abbreviated as HSA, tie the concrete slab to the steel beam flange. Temporary formwork or a light gauge pour stop is specified at the edge of the concrete. A secondary steel beam is positioned adjacent where required.
