A steel column base connection ties into a reinforced concrete footing with a buckling-restrained brace. The steel column sits on a base plate bedded on non-shrink grout over a steel embed plate and concrete footing, with stiffener plates provided as required by the manufacturer. A steel gusset plate connects the steel buckling-restrained brace to the assembly using bolted connections. Anchor rods extend downward through the footing to a lower steel anchor plate assembly with side plates, set within a thickened footing zone to achieve the required embedment depth. A blockout in the concrete slab on grade is detailed to be poured solid after the braces are installed.
