A steel roof beam supports a metal roof deck and connects to buckling-restrained braces via a gusset plate welded to the beam web. One-half-inch beam web stiffeners are provided on each side, with additional web stiffeners added as required by the buckling-restrained brace supplier. A five-sixteenth-inch fillet weld secures the connection components. The gusset plate and attachment are designed by the buckling-restrained brace supplier.
