A concealed timber connection uses a steel connector plate and screws embedded within routed slots in the wood members. The primary timber column or girder is routed to receive the connector plate, with side and bottom wood covers dimensioned per the structural schedule. Four SDCF271100 screws spaced at two inches on center are installed on each side of the connection. The detail applies where the connection is fully concealed by gypsum sheathing for fire protection.
