The Type A track sill consists of a standard track section fastened to the stud with number 10 sheet metal screws on each side of each stud. The Type B boxed sill utilizes a stud filler matching the typical stud, nested within the track and secured with two number 10 sheet metal screws at 24 inches on center, with additional number 10 sheet metal screws at 12 inches on center on each side. The boxed sill assembly connects to the jamb stud via a clip angle, requiring a 3-inch minimum clearance from the top and bottom of the clip to the nearest stud punch-out. All track and sill members are sized per project specifications.
