An HSS or channel stair stringer bears on a minimum three-sixteenths-inch plate at the bearing surface with a seal weld all around. The stringer is secured with an L3x3x3/8 by eight-inch angle clip at each stringer, anchored by a three-quarter-inch-diameter Hilti KB-TZ2 anchor with a three-and-three-quarter-inch embedment centered in a thirteen-sixteenths by six-inch slotted hole. The connection is supported by a thickened slab-on-grade footing extending a minimum of one foot six inches beyond the stair on each side. The footing is reinforced with three number four top and bottom bars eighteen inches minimum, and number four bars at each end spaced at eighteen inches on center.
