A buckling-restrained brace connects to a heavy gusset plate welded to a column base assembly with three-eighths-inch fillet welds. The column, base plate, and anchor rods are sized per schedule and anchored into concrete. A 5/8-inch stiffener plate provides lateral support along the column web. The gusset plate is 1-1/4 inches thick and connects to the brace with manufacturer-specified bolts.
