This structural section details the edge of a concrete slab bearing on a wide flange steel beam with a fourteen gauge closure bent plate featuring a one-inch return. Continuous number four reinforcing bars run along the edge with a two-inch minimum clearance. Additional number four bars measuring four feet long with six-inch hooks are placed at twenty-four inches on center and rotated as required. A perpendicular beam or brace is connected per sheet S5.51 at a maximum of ten feet on center. Fillet welds are specified at one-eighth inch spaced at twelve inches.
