A structural steel brace connects to a steel beam using an ASTM A572-50 gusset plate and 1-1/8 inch diameter A490-X bolts with standard holes. The steel brace includes twenty 1-1/8 inch diameter A490-X bolts spaced at 7-1/2 inches on center. Additional 1-1/4 inch by 7 inch by 1 foot 8 inch ASTM A572-50 clip gusset plates are provided on each side, secured with five 1-1/8 inch diameter A490-X bolts with standard holes. The assembly features fillet welds and headed studs welded to the steel beam flanges.
