Steel joists bear on top of a steel column sized per plan, connected via a five-sixteenth-inch by four-inch by one-foot-zero-inch plate or five-sixteenth-inch bent plate adjusted for the roof slope. A three-times lumber nailer fastens above the assembly with a three-sixteenth-inch typical fillet weld and an eighth-inch weld with one-and-a-half-inch spacing. The connection utilizes bolted and welded detailing at the column capital and top chord bearing locations.
