Existing two-by-ten wood joists bear onto the bottom flange of a steel beam with blocking flush against the web. A two-by-six blocking member is fastened with sixteen-penny nails at twelve inches on center and secured with three-quarter-inch diameter A307 bolts at sixteen inches on center located at the mid-depth of the steel beam. Existing sheathing is fastened with ten-penny nails at six inches on center. Joist hangers are provided per plan.
