A hollow structural section post supports a cantilevered beam sized per plan via a half-inch cap plate measuring 8 by 6 inches, secured with 5/16-inch fillet welds on three sides. The end of the cantilever beam is capped with a 3/8-inch plate welded with a 1/4-inch fillet weld.
