A wide flange beam connects to a wide flange column flange using a bolted web or flange connection with one-inch diameter bolts spaced at one and three-quarter inches typically. A one-half-inch thick cap plate is provided at the top of the column where required. Fillet welds of five-sixteenths size secure the connection assembly. Clearances and edge distances include two inches and a maximum of one-half inch.
