A buckling-restrained braced frame features a new hollow structural section column designated as HSS 10x8 aligned with a vertical element. The buckling-restrained brace BRB-6 connects to the upper gusset plate 9.1J via a two-inch diameter pin in a pin plate, set two feet below the seventeen-foot working point elevation. The lower end of the brace connects to base gusset plate 9.1H anchored to the foundation. A note specifies that column splices are not permitted on this member. Working point dimensions locate the brace at seven feet six inches horizontally and seventeen feet vertically.
