Cold-formed metal stud framing hangs from an overhead structural steel beam sized per plan. A continuous ordinary track with a minimum fourteen gauge thickness sits beneath the beam, secured with one-eighth inch fillet welds typical. A continuous two by two inch sixteen gauge angle fastens to each leg of each stud using number ten screws. For offset conditions, a sixteen gauge metal stud matches the hanging stud size at each hanging stud, secured with four number twelve sheet metal screws typical with a maximum six inch offset from the beam above.
