A steel beam connects to a hollow structural section column via a welded shear tab with two bolts spaced at three inches vertically. The hollow structural section is positioned per plan with a minimum four-inch dimension and welded to an existing steel beam below. Field welds are specified at five-sixteenths and one-quarter inches with weld-all-around symbols on the structural members.
