A structural steel column bears on a base plate atop a concrete footing, secured by four ASTM F1554 Grade 36 anchor rods with heavy hex nuts. The column end is finished for full bearing against the base plate. Washers are sized according to American Institute of Steel Construction recommendations. Anchor rod diameter and embedment are specified per schedule.
