Cold-formed steel wall studs are braced horizontally using 43-mil track blocking spaced at eight feet maximum horizontally and four feet maximum vertically. A continuous two-inch by 33-mil horizontal steel strap is fastened across the studs at four-foot vertical intervals. Blocking is secured to each stud with two number 10 screws on each side at alternate blocking locations. Flanges are cut and bent with one number 10 screw in each flange, and two number 10 screws are installed per stud.
