Steel bar joists bear on a structural steel beam with a six-inch nailer matching the beam flange width between the joists, secured with seven-eighths-inch diameter welded studs at twelve inches on center, staggered, with a one-inch maximum countersunk dap. Angle braces measuring 4x4x1/4 are welded to the beam with three-sixteenths-inch fillet welds and three-inch spacing, positioned at each joist typically. Field welding of the angle braces to the beam occurs after the roof is installed, with brace locations coordinated around sprinkler pipes and positioned no further than six inches from the top chord panel point unless an auxiliary web is installed. Two rows of bridging bolts are included, with additional connections referenced on detail seven unless noted otherwise.
