A twelve-gauge plate provides structural reinforcing around an opening cut into a metal deck without concrete fill. The plate extends a minimum of one foot typical in each direction from the opening edges, with a three-quarter-inch typical offset and a maximum opening width of one foot. A one-eighth-inch fillet weld secures the plate to the metal deck flutes. The plate extends to the center of the next high flute as indicated by project notes.
