A concrete slab over metal deck bears directly onto the top of a masonry wall with a minimum two-inch bearing length. Number four dowels are placed at twenty-four inches on center, extending twenty-four inches horizontally into the slab and sixteen inches vertically down into the grouted cells of the masonry wall. The masonry wall sizing and additional reinforcing are specified per plan and schedule, while the concrete slab thickness and metal deck size and gauge are determined by general structural notes.
