A 1 1/2-inch cold-rolled channel runs horizontally across cold-formed steel studs at 48 inches on center, secured by two number 10 sheet metal screws to the channel. A 1 1/2-inch by 1 1/2-inch by 16 gauge clip angle is provided at each stud, fastened with two number 10 sheet metal screws to the stud web and the bridging channel. The clip angle length is limited to no more than 1/2 inch less than the stud depth. Gypboard or sheathing is applied on one side only as indicated by project requirements.
