Concrete walls and footings intersect with two layers of reinforcing steel detailed with lap splices and standard hooks at corners. Minimum vertical reinforcement consists of two number five bars placed at wall junctions and corners. Inner bars at corners require standard hooks to develop proper anchorage. Lap splice lengths are specified for continuous reinforcement across intersecting wall sections.
