A metal stud track of delegated design bears on an existing wide flange beam adjacent to the existing roof deck. An existing angle is fastened to support the stud assembly, with a steel shim provided to match the existing ledger angle thickness and create a flat surface for the metal stud track. A one-eighth-inch fillet weld secures the assembly.
