Cold-formed steel studs are spliced end-to-end using an internal nesting flange track sized to match the stud profile with a minimum sixteen gauge thickness. The splice length extends two feet on either side of the centerline for a total overlap length of four feet. Sixteen number ten self-drilling metal screws spaced at four inches on center secure each side of the connection. The splice location must be positioned away from mid-span as required by structural design.
