A secondary steel beam connects to the supporting beam web through a welded steel plate and bolted assembly. A half-inch thick by four-inch wide by six-inch long plate is welded to the supporting beam web with five-sixteenth-inch fillet welds. The supported beam web secures to the plate using two half-inch diameter ASTM A325 bolts spaced at three inches on center. The intersecting members are sized per plan.
