A three-inch clear diamond-shaped isolation joint surrounds the steel column base plate and associated anchor bolts. The assembly features a removable cap at the top surface of the slab, with expansion material installed within the joint depth. Floor joints at braced frame locations require caulking; the general contractor must confirm blockout dimensions with the steel detailer. Consult architectural drawings for additional caulking requirements in other areas.
