A braced wall holdown connection anchors a cold-formed steel stud wall to a concrete-filled metal deck. A Simpson S/HDU4 holdown is secured with fourteen number twelve self-tapping sheet metal screws to a steel gusset plate of schedule-specified thickness. The gusset assembly ties into double studs and framing tracks sized per plan, with stud blocking attached using number eight sheet metal screws at four inches on center. A long anchor rod passes through the holdown and extends down to a three-quarter-inch by four-inch by one-foot-six-inch steel plate fastened beneath the deck using three-eighths-inch diameter Hilti KB-TZ2 expansion anchors with a two-inch embedment. Sixteen-gauge by three-inch straps with two number eight sheet metal screws at each stud provide additional bracing connections along the wall framing.
