Two wide-flange steel beams meet end-to-end at a moment splice connection. A 3/4-inch by 8-inch by 2-foot-3-inch plate connects the top and bottom flanges using twelve 7/8-inch diameter A325-N bolts arranged at the usual gauge. A 3/8-inch by 4-1/2-inch by 0-9-inch plate centers on the beam web with three 7/8-inch diameter A325-N bolts on each side. A five-sixteenths-inch fillet weld typical joins the web plate. Beam sizes are sized per plan.
