A structural steel wide flange beam framing connection located above a window head. The wide flange beam connects to cold-formed steel studs using an L18x6x2x5 inch long clip angle provided on both the near side and far side of multi-stud assemblies. Fastening consists of two quarter-inch diameter self-drilling screws equipped with three-quarter-inch diameter galvanized metal washers centered within one-and-a-half-inch vertical slots to permit vertical movement without fully tightening. A half-inch to one-inch maximum gap is maintained between components, and utility punches are located away from the connection point. The wide flange beam is provided by others and coordinated with architectural drawings.
