A saw-cut control joint within a concrete slab on grade placed over granular base and subgrade. The control joint depth is specified as one-quarter to one-third of the total slab thickness (t), with joint spacing sized per plan. The saw-cut must be executed within the first twelve hours of the slab pour to control shrinkage cracking.
