A new concrete wall connects to an existing concrete wall using epoxy dowels featuring standard ninety-degree hooks. The existing concrete interface surface is roughened to a quarter-inch amplitude to ensure proper bonding. Epoxy dowel embedment depths and reinforcing bar sizes vary based on new wall thickness: number four bars are used for thicknesses up to ten inches, number five bars for thicknesses between ten and twelve inches, and number six bars for thicknesses exceeding twelve inches. Concrete cover is specified with a two-inch minimum and three-inch maximum clearance.
