A saddle bearing plate measuring 3/8 by 6 inches is recessed into the queen post truss top chord to match the wide flange beam top of steel elevation. Two 4-inch machine screws with countersunk heads secure the plate. Side plates measuring 3/8 by 6 inches are attached with typical complete joint penetration welds. Wide flange beams frame into the assembly using typical shear tab connections per detail 1 on sheet S5.01. Metal deck and hollow structural sections are omitted for clarity.
