A wide-flange or hollow structural section column supports framing beams using a welded connection plate bolted to the beam web. The connection plate thickness, bolt diameter, and bolt quantity are determined per schedule. A standard three-inch vertical bolt spacing is maintained with two-and-three-quarter-inch edge clearances from the face of the web. Flanges are coped where required with a one-and-three-quarter-inch minimum dimension. Welds are sized per schedule.
