A concrete-filled metal deck bears on structural steel framing sized per plan to create a vertical step in the floor slab. A fourteen-gauge Z-closure shapes the vertical face of the step. Reinforcement consists of number four continuous bars at the top and bottom of the step, supplemented by number four bars spaced at twelve inches on center.
