8-inch open-end and bond beam concrete masonry units for masonry beam assemblies require a 4-inch wide opening and a 2 1/2-inch deep web section. All 8-inch open-end and bond beam units must adhere to these minimum dimensions. Standard 8-inch concrete masonry units may be field-modified by cutting or chipping to achieve this configuration, provided the final dimensions meet the specified requirements.
