The concrete foundation wall bears on a continuous concrete footing with bottom reinforcing and vertical dowels matched to the wall above. A one-quarter inch roughened surface or intermittent keyway provides a cold joint at the top of the footing. The concrete slab on grade meets the foundation wall over a felt bond breaker and insulation layer. An exterior slab on grade or grade slab bears adjacent to the wall below the exterior wall and window system. Top of wall reinforcing is tied into the corner with additional dowels matching the vertical wall reinforcement above.
