A diagonal brace constructed from an L4x4x5/16 angle connects to a steel beam and truss purlins sized per plan. Gusset plates measuring 3/8 inch by 4 inches by 0 feet 4 inches are welded with quarter-inch fillet welds on both sides to transfer loads. The joist manufacturer shall design the assembly for a plus or minus 4,000-pound vertical point load representing the seismic force at working stress level at each brace location.
