A steel deck is supported over a moment connection with a flange splice plate. A one-quarter-inch plate connects the assembly, fastened with bolts as required for the moment connection. The steel deck orientation is sized per plan, maintaining a two-inch minimum typical clearance when perpendicular and a one-inch minimum typical clearance when parallel.
