Composite concrete slab and metal deck bear directly on the top flange of a steel support beam. Welded stud anchors are installed through the deck into the beam flange. Minimum bearing dimensions of one inch and three-quarters of an inch are maintained at the beam edge. The metal deck must be installed to allow proper stud installation without field cutting the deck attachment.
