A davit socket pedestal is mounted atop a framing beam supported by a steel column, with its location sized per plan. Half-inch by ten-inch stiffener plates are welded to each side of the beam web. Half-inch stiffener plates are installed between the beam flanges, with a reference to detail D for a column rotated ninety degrees. Fillet welds of three-eighths inch and five-sixteenths inch secure the pedestal and stiffener plates to the column web and flanges.
