A cross-laminated timber deck bears onto a 4x wood nailer that sits atop a hollow structural section beam. The wood nailer is fastened with two rows of 1/4-inch diameter by 6-1/4-inch mechanical assemblies at 4 inches on center staggered, and includes 3/4-inch diameter countersunk welded threaded studs at 12 inches on center. A continuous bent plate measuring 1/4 inch by 2-1/2 inches by 4 inches ties the assembly together near the metal studs per plan.
