This connection joins a vertical hollow structural section web member to a horizontal collar tie member. The vertical member is secured to the collar tie using five-sixteenths inch flare-bevel groove welds on both sides of the web. Additionally, five-sixteenths inch fillet welds are applied at the intersection of the web and the collar tie flange to ensure structural continuity.
