A glulam beam bears on a W24 steel beam supported by a glulam column below. A three-quarter-inch thick knife plate is inserted into the glulam beam, secured by four three-quarter-inch diameter by nine-inch long ASTM A307 pins. A three-quarter-inch thick plate receives rods connected to the assembly. Two-by blocking is provided on each side, and four seven-eighth-inch diameter welded studs are spaced at twelve inches on center. A glulam cover is supplied by the heavy timber manufacturer.
