A concrete footing bears upon a load transfer pad constructed over improved soil or engineered fill. The load transfer pad requires relative compaction as requested by the contractor and geotechnical engineer, with a required depth verified in the field. Moisture conditioned fill extends to the limits of ground improvement at the footing edge with relative compaction noted in the geotechnical report. Finished grade slopes as required by the geotechnical report outside the improvement limits.
