An HSS brace connects to a hollow structural section column and a wide-flange or HSS beam sized per plan. The brace aligns with the work point at the centerlines of the brace and beam. A three-eighths-inch fillet weld connects the members typically at the HSS column. The wide-flange beam is notched as required with a maximum one-half-inch clearance. A brace on the opposite side is omitted for clarity.
