A structural steel beam connects to the web of a column using a shear tab welded to the column flange with a 5/16 inch fillet weld. Three-quarter inch top and bottom plates are welded to the column flange, with one-half inch plates used for W10x or smaller beams. A second row of bolts is provided where applicable, with bolt spacing and edge distance conforming to AISC specifications. Additional connection requirements follow the non-moment connection notes and the AISC manual.
