An open web steel joist bears on a supporting steel beam with corrugated steel deck above. A one-eighth-inch continuous bent plate is positioned between the joists, secured with a three-sixteenth-inch fillet weld typically. Additional welds include one-eighth-inch fillet welds with spacing configurations such as two inches or three-twelve inches typical as indicated on the drawing.
