A continuous HSS6x4 structural steel tube member features a continuous one-inch cut at the center of the near-side web to allow horizontal drift. A three-eighths-inch steel plate is placed at the center of the HSS tube and fastened with two half-inch diameter A307 bolts with nuts. A horizontal slot is provided through the assembly with dimensions of one and a half inches, four inches, and one and a half inches centered on the centerline.
