A structural kicker is connected parallel to the flutes of a bare metal deck using a bent plate and self-tapping screws. The assembly consists of a bent plate spanning four low flutes, fastened to the bare metal deck with one-quarter-inch diameter screws at each low flute. The kicker member connects to the bent plate using four number ten sheet metal screws, typically spaced with specific edge clearances.
